Description: Lately there has been big news in India: the government has decided to include artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the school curriculum from Class 3 onwards, starting in the 2026-27 academic year. The idea is that students should start learning about AI concepts when they are young, so they grow up comfortable with the technology and ready for a future where AI becomes part of many jobs. Teachers will also be trained so they can teach these new subjects well. To prepare for this change, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is already working on a framework to include AI topics in the different grades. The plan includes piloting courses, creating teaching material, and ensuring schools have infrastructure (computers, internet, labs) to support AI education. This move is being seen as a big step by India to modernize its education system, align with global trends, and equip students with skills for tomorrow’s world.
