Episode Title: 15 Ships SANK in Strait Of Hormuz! Why There is NO Alternative Sea Route? #shorts

Description: In the current 2026 Iran conflict, the Strait of Hormuz is not just “blocked” in a simple sense — it has become a controlled war zone. Iran hasn’t always completely shut it, but it has restricted or threatened ships, attacked vessels, and allowed only certain “non-hostile” ships to pass. This has reduced traffic massively and created fear among shipping companies. Because of this, many ships are not even trying to pass. Thousands of vessels are either stranded or waiting outside, and some countries’ oil exports (like Iraq) have dropped sharply because they simply cannot get their oil out. Now coming to your question — why not just bypass it in this situation? First, in this conflict, the biggest issue is still geography. The oil is physically located inside the Persian Gulf. Even today, with the war going on, tankers loaded in places like Iraq or Kuwait literally have no other sea exit except Hormuz. So when Iran restricts or threatens that route, the oil just gets stuck there — which is exactly why production is being cut because storage is filling up. Second, even if countries try alternatives like pipelines, they are too small compared to the scale of the crisis. The strait normally carries about 20% of global oil supply, and replacing even part of that would require huge infrastructure that doesn’t exist yet. Third, the conflict itself makes everything more expensive. Ships are avoiding the area not only because of physical blockage but because of risk of attacks and skyrocketing insurance costs. In fact, insurance premiums have risen multiple times, making it too risky or uneconomical for many companies to operate there. Fourth, even if oil is rerouted through longer paths (like sending it to other ports and then shipping around Africa), it becomes slow and costly. That means fewer deliveries, higher transport costs, and immediate price increases globally. This is why oil prices have already surged during the conflict.
