Importantly, India remains one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world, with growth rates around 6–7%. The drop in ranking is therefore more of a technical and comparative issue rather than a sign of economic decline. In fact, long-term projections still suggest that India will rise to become the world’s third-largest economy within the next decade. In simple terms, the ranking has changed due to currency and calculation effects, not because India’s economy is shrinking.
