Since XP100 contains little or no ethanol, many vehicle owners see it as the closest alternative to conventional petrol. However, the high price makes it impractical for everyday use. At around ₹167–170 per litre, it costs roughly 60 percent more than regular petrol and is available only at selected fuel stations in major cities. Automobile experts note that for most commuters, XP100 is unlikely to replace regular petrol because of its limited availability and significantly higher cost.
