Description: iPhone 18 Pro Arrives in India With Camera, Chip and Battery Upgrades Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India, introducing targeted improvements over the iPhone 17 Pro rather than a completely new external design. Pre-orders begin on September 12, while sales and deliveries start September 18. The iPhone 18 Pro costs ₹1,64,900 for 256GB, rising to ₹3,14,900 for the new 2TB version. The Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900. For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro launched at ₹1,34,900, making the new model ₹30,000 more expensive at entry level. The biggest technical change is Apple’s A20 Pro processor, manufactured using a two-nanometre process. Apple claims it provides up to 20 percent faster CPU performance and 40 percent faster graphics than the A19 Pro inside the iPhone 17 Pro. A redesigned vapour chamber is intended to maintain performance during gaming and demanding AI tasks. The 48-megapixel main camera now includes variable aperture settings. Unlike the 17 Pro’s fixed aperture, users can control how much light enters the camera and adjust depth of field. The ultra-wide, telephoto and 18-megapixel front cameras remain broadly similar, although software and video processing have improved. Battery life increases from up to 33 hours of video playback on the 17 Pro to 36 hours on the 18 Pro. Wired charging can reportedly reach 50 percent in approximately 15 minutes, compared with around 20 minutes previously. The 6.3-inch, 120Hz display remains largely unchanged, but the Dynamic Island is smaller and can display multiple live activities. New colours include Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy. The iPhone 18 Pro is therefore an evolutionary upgrade: its strongest improvements concern photography, processing power, cooling, charging and storage.
